CS 454 Auto Lane Generator
v1.0.4Sets out the notional lanes across the deck for a CS 454 assessment. It handles skew and curvature, and it will take its reference line from a structure group of nodes rather than a straight chord.
Bridge assessment & design · 11 plug-ins
Eleven plug-ins for midas Civil NX that build notional lanes, assessment and design combinations, moving load cases, grillage geometry and result reports — against the model you already have open.
CS 454 · EN 1990 · EN 1991-2 — versions current 1 September 2026
Installed from inside Civil NX. No separate download.
Assessment lanes and combinations; EN 1990 and EN 1991-2.
Every plug-in below links its own article on MIDAS Support.
The suite
Six deal with lane set-out, load combinations and moving load cases to CS 454 and the Eurocodes. The rest cover deck geometry, load conversion, model reporting and results export.
Sets out the notional lanes across the deck for a CS 454 assessment. It handles skew and curvature, and it will take its reference line from a structure group of nodes rather than a straight chord.
Generates the assessment combinations from the load cases already in the model. Names and descriptions stay readable once they reach the results tree.
Moving load cases for a CS 454 assessment, including user-defined permit vehicles and footway-only loading.
Divides the carriageway into notional lanes to EN 1991-2 and sets them out on the model, remaining area included.
EN 1990 combinations: ULS and SLS, characteristic, frequent and quasi-permanent, built from your load cases. Now on its second major version.
Builds the moving load cases for the Eurocode load models against lanes you have already set out.
Generates the grillage geometry for a skewed deck, longitudinal girders and transverse members together. This version adds a radius of curvature, so curved decks are covered as well.
Converts point loads into the equivalent patch loads, so wheel and axle loads spread over the deck instead of arriving as a spike at one node.
Reads the open model and compiles a report of what is in it, which is useful for a QC pass or a handover. It only reads. Nothing in the model is changed.
Breaks a combination result back down into what each constituent load case contributed. The quickest way to find out why a combination is governing.
Exports a run of result tables in one pass instead of taking them out one at a time.
How they work
CS 454 lanes, assessment combinations and moving load cases; EN 1990 combinations and EN 1991-2 lane set-out — including user-defined permit vehicles.
Combinations are built from the load cases in the model; lanes can be set out from a structure group of nodes. You are not re-entering the deck a second time.
The Model Report Builder only reads. It compiles what is in the model for a QC pass or a handover and changes nothing.
